Why are Performance Air Filters Part(s) Important

A Performance Air Filter maximizes the flow of air to your engine. And in order to combust, fuel needs to be mixed with air. While this is true of everything from your daily driver to your diesel trucker, it is especially true if you are sitting on a performance platform.

The car air filter is mounted in an air box and cleans the air coming into the engine by removing dust and grit. On older cars with carburetors or single point fuel injection the car air filter rests on a lip of the carburetor and the filter is round or oval. In newer cars with multi point or direct injection engine, the air box is frequently moved to the side so the hood can be shaped more aerodynamically. These filters are usually flat or cone-shaped and can be made from a reusable cloth.

If your air filter isn't working properly, you could be losing power and fuel mileage so make sure your car isn't choking by upgrading to a performance air filter.
