When you think of Automotive Art, typically the first thing that comes to mind is photography. The Automotive industry has been dominated by photography as the primary source for capturing the energy and beauty behind the motor sports and vehicles we love. That is, until Artist Rob Ijbema decided to take his brush and show us motorsports through his eyes.
Take one look at
at his blogspot, and you’ll see a huge assortment of automotive and motorsport paintings capturing famous car events from around the world. From the Monaco Grand Prix to 24 hours of Le Mans, Rob has created timeless images that don’t only capture a moment in time, but one persons view of a sport often overlooked in the art world. With a tinge of Impressionism and rich colors, he’s created pieces that may some day be noted not only for their beauty, but for their unique look into a historical point in time, when man and machine pushed each other to the limits of mobility.
The even better news is that many of his paintings and prints are for sale. If you’re a motor sport lover with a taste for the fine arts, these will make a fine addition to your home. Check out his full blog and gallery.
