          Wiper Blades & Arms Information

Why are Wiper Blades & Arms Part(s) Important

Whether you are searching for regular windshield Wiper Blades and/or Arms or high performance wiper blades, it is crucial you choose the correct equipment for your vehicle. A good system clears the vast majority of the surface of the glass of rain, snow, sleet or mud. Having a clear vision of the roadway is extremely important to not only your safety, but your family and friends’ safety as well. That is why it is crucial you have the appropriate wiper blades and arms for your vehicle.

Wiper blades and arms work together to keep your windshield streak free of moisture. The springs on the arms keep the blade pressed firmly against the windshield or rear window glass. The shape and design of the blade is designed to keep it in contact with the glass for its entire length. There are various blade designs and rubber compounds. The amount and type of precipitation, and how much sun you get in between storms can be a factor in which blade design you choose.

Wiper arms are just as important as the blades themselves. The arms, along with the motor are what move the wipers from left to right. It starts with the relay sensor, which switches on once you have turned on your windshield wipers. From there, it sends an electronic signal to the wiper motor controller, which then turns on forcing the wiper arms to move from left to right. If the wiper arms are not working cohesively with the unit, they will not work properly or may not work at all.

When should you change your blades or arms? If the blades look worn out, or they leave water on the glass after they have gone across, it is probably time to replace your wiper blades. You should also clean the blades after washing your car, to ensure there is no dirt or debris stuck between the wiper blade and glass. If there is dirt or debris, it will cause streaks, and lead to your blades deteriorating faster than they should.
