CV Shaft, CV Joint & Boot Information

Why are CV Shaft, CV Joint & Boot Part(s) Important

The CV Joint, Shaft, and Boot are responsible for putting the power down. After being produced by the engine, power runs through the transmission and into the axles and onto the wheels to move the car. The CV Joints, Shaft and Boot all play a vital role in moving the car.

On front wheel drive vehicles and rear wheel drive vehicles with independent suspension, Constant Velocity (CV) shafts work to keep the power supplied to the wheel as it travels up and down. At the end of the CV shafts are CV joints encased in boots which protect the joint from dirt and debris as well as keep the joint greased. The CV joints allow the shafts to slide and pivot, keeping the wheel vertical no matter how much the suspension travels.

A1 Cardone Select CV Half Shaft Assembly - These CV half shaft assemblies come with Neoprene boots and shafts that have been measured for straightness.

Beck/Arnley CV Joint Boot Kit - These CV boots are a perfect replacement if you just need to replace the boot on your front end and can prevent further damage to the CV joint.
