          Starter Relay Information

Why are Starter Relay Part(s) Important

The starter solenoid (or Starter Relay) plays a vital role in the process of starting your engine. The process begins in the cabin with the key which triggers the starter system. Through a long process, the starter solenoid powers the starter motor which turns the engine over until the engine begins its internal combustion process. Everything up until the moment of combustion within the cylinder is considered to be part of the car starter system.

The amount of electrical energy needed to run the starter motor is too much for the wiring in the ignition switch. So, when the electrical connection is made, the starter relay delivers the necessary power to run the starter motor. Newer vehicles have sensors that can tell if the engine is running and keep the starter motor from turning which could cause damage to vital parts.

Standard Starter Solenoid - This starter solenoid (starter relay) will bridge the gap and deliver power to our starter when you need it most.

Taylor Hot Start/Bump Starter Solenoid Kit - This starter solenoid (starter relay) solves the issue some old cars have with hot starts.
