Why are Air Conditioning & Heating Part Important
Your vehicle's Air Conditioning and Heating system keeps your interior at a comfortable temperature when the air outside is too cold or too warm for comfort. Using a system of pumps, condensers, fans, and the ventilation system, these parts ensure you're always comfortable during your ride.
Your Air Conditioning System uses gas and a compressor to suck the heat out of air. The cold air is then circulated back into your cabin. The heating system uses heat created by your engine to warm air. Hot coolant flows through the heater core where it warms the air before returning to the radiator to be cooled down further. After the air is cooled or warmed, it is propelled through the ventilation system by the blower fan.
Keeping your AC and Heating system in working order is crucial to providing you and your passengers with a comfortable riding experience, regardless of the outside conditions. Should your Air Conditioning or Heating system malfunction, at the very least you'll be cold in the winter or hot during the summer. But in some cars, the condenser is driven by the engine's serpentine belt. If this breaks, the AC not working will be the least of your worries.
