The AC system is in charge of cooling air and circulating it through your cabin. It does through a series of pumps, condensers, fans, and a ventilation system it shares with the heater. Refrigerant is used by your compressor to absorb heat and rapidly cool down air. Additives can sometimes be used to improve the performance of your AC system by quieting noise or cleaning the system in preparation for a conversion to a newer type of refrigerant.
