Why are Radiator, Cap & Components Part(s) Important
Radiator Cap and Components are all important to your car's cooling system. About 66% of the energy produced by your engine is wasted as heat energy and must be dissipated to prevent overheating. The engine's cooling system is series of tubes send coolant around the engine with the purpose of absorbing the heat and rushing the wasted energy away. The radiator cap and components help to keep the coolant moving through your cooling system.
The radiator is the heart of the engine cooling system. The hot coolant can flow either horizontally or vertically depending on the design. The radiator cap is designed to keep the coolant in the cooling system. It does this using a dual seal system. The primary seal is a complete seal keeping the coolant in while the secondary seal is designed to release when the engine overheats and let the extra coolant vent to the overflow tank or the coolant recovery tank.
Stant Regular Radiator Cap - This radiator cap is as simple as possible, fits most radiators, and can withstand up to 1216 lbs. of pressure.
Stant Radiator Cap/Cooling System Tester Adapter - Test your radiator for leaks with this tester adapter which can handle up to 30 pounds of pressure.
