Why are Motor Mounts & Struts Mounts Part(s) Important

The Motor Mounts are harness points for your engine to lock into the the engine cradle. So while all the magic of combustion driven mechanical revolutions takes place out of sight, the motor mounts provide a stable connection designed to contain all the centrifugal force that can be created by the internal engine. The strut mounts bolt into the chassis in order to give your shock absorber a solid mounting point. These ensure that vibration can easily travel into and be dampened by the shock absorption system.

The engine block peeks through at various points, one being where the expansion plugs are pressed in. Other key points for the external engine are: at the motor mounts where the motor is harnessed into the chassis; the oil pan and oil filter housing are accessible for maintenance, as are the various covers- timing cover, valve covers etc. In between those components and the engine block, you’ll find the various gaskets, seals and O-rings that protect your internal mechanics from outside contamination. The engine block is an integral part of that system.
