Why are Evaporative Control System Part(s) Important
AKA: Evap System, Evaporation Control Canister
The Evaporative Control System plays a part in your vehicle’s emissions control system--a complex and overarching network of pumps, valves, filters, control systems, sensors, ventilation/ recycling components, and electronics used to limit your cars exhaust of toxic byproducts. Proper emissions control helps modern cars run more efficiently than ever before by reducing fuel consumption. Today’s computer managed engines deliver more power, use less fuel, and spew fewer emissions than their predecessors. However, these tight tolerances require proper functioning components including the evaporative control system.
Proper emissions control is argued to have effects ranging from the noticeable reduction of local smog to reducing the effects of man-made climate change.
The evaporative control system is designed to minimize the loss of fuel due to evaporation. A gas cap keeps the vapors from escaping from the fuel filler neck. Your evaporation control system takes this one step further by coming out of the fuel tank as an evaporator line and collecting the fuel vapors that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere. It then adds them to the intake manifold to be burned off.
Standard Early Fuel Evaporation (EFE) Heater Engineered to reduce failures, this evaporator matches the dealer specs exactly.
