Why are Relays, Sensors, Switches & Electronics Part(s) Important
AKA: EGR Sensor Connector, Vacuum Sensor, EGR Sensor Connector
Various Relays, Sensors, Switches and Electronics all play a part in your vehicle’s emissions control system--a complex and overarching network of pumps, valves, filters, control systems, sensors, ventilation/ recycling components, and electronics used to limit your cars exhaust of toxic byproducts. Proper emissions control helps modern cars run more efficiently than ever before by reducing fuel consumption. Today’s computer managed engines deliver more power, use less fuel, and spew fewer emissions than their predecessors. However, these tight tolerances require proper functioning components including relays, sensors, switches and electronics.
Proper emissions control is argued to have effects ranging from the noticeable reduction of local smog to reducing the effects of man-made climate change.
One relatively constant fact of emission control systems is the all or nothing design. Either your system is functioning properly and the car is running normally or something fails on the emission side and, if the car runs at all, it certainly isn't running well. Often the culprit will be one of the emission control relays, sensors, switches, and/or electronics.
No matter how well the pumps and valves are working, it won’t matter if the electronics can’t communicate. The purpose of the relays, sensors, and switches is to tell the vehicle’s computer how things are working so they can make any adjustments necessary. If they can’t make those adjustments, your engine is flying blind and will perform poorly if at all.
Standard Emission Control Relay A direct fit for hundreds of applications. This relay matches manufacturers specs but is designed to outlast the original.
Standard Oxygen Sensor Relay Engineered to reduce failures, this O2 sensor is a exact matchup for the OE sensor.
