Relays, Sensors, Switches & Electronics Information

Why are Relays, Sensors, Switches & Electronics Part(s) Important

Relays, Sensors, Switches and Electronics support your suspension system, one of the most important and customizable systems of the modern automobile. Whatever your auto scene, the right suspension components are absolutely critical to achieving your ambitions for your vehicle. Hard parts like bearings, bushings and armatures need to be understood, inspected for movement and/or rigidity and—if necessary—replaced or upgraded. Performance parts are so plentiful for the suspension system that whatever course you plan on putting your vehicle through and whatever stance and ride you think ideal, you can achieve it—it’s just a matter of deciding what you want from your suspension. Whatever stage of daily upkeep, restoration or modification you’re in, your relays, sensors, switches and electronics need to be up to snuff and here’s why…

Relays, sensors, switches and electronics become more prominent as modern suspensions become more sophisticated. Newer “active” or “adaptive suspension” tries to eliminate the road’s control over the pitch and roll of the car’s suspension by using sensors that read and react to changing surfaces and conditions. The info is then pulled into and sent out by the computer through a system of electronic switches and relays so that the adjustable areas of the suspension can be manipulated accordingly.

Firestone Air Suspension Sensor Linkage Kit Used along with Ride-Right air helper springs to adjust and train your suspension to respond and react to the road.

Firestone Electric Height Sensor The height control sensor is mounted between the chassis and suspension and sends signals that control the inflation of both air springs.
