The clutch bearings and bushings are a necessary part of the manual transmission.

The most commonly worn bearing in the clutch is the Throwout Bearing. The Throwout Bearing sits around the shaft after the clutch and reduces friction against the other components it comes in contact with. There are other bearings in the clutch assembly that, in essence, do the same thing.
