          Clutch & Clutch Kits Information

Why are Clutch & Clutch Kits Part(s) Important

Clutch and Clutch Kits are necessary to change between gears. A clutch is a surprisingly simple mechanism but is only found on cars with manual transmissions; cars with automatic transmissions use a torque converter. They may use very different means in doing so, but both facilitate in the smooth changing of gears in the transmission at speed. The clutch and clutch kits are a necessary part of the manual transmission.

The clutch is the part that makes physical contact with the flywheel, which gets its power directly from the engine. One side of the clutch plate has a friction coated side (similar to that found on brake pads) to reduce slipping when engaged with the flywheel. The clutch disc itself is secured to the pressure plate to harness the power of the engine.
